The COS Women’s Auxiliary has reached out to the children of the Langley Park McCormick Elementary School in Prince George’s County, to assist some students with basic, necessary supplies as they start the 2020 fall semester.  The aid packages which included sharpeners, erasers, markers, pencil cases, pencils, rulers, scissors, white boards and hand sanitizer wipes among other items, were compiled through donations from the membership of the organization and were also made available to young members of our church.

The donations, packed in colourful environmentally friendly and reusable shopping bags, were presented and offered as thanksgiving at the altar, during the services on August 30.  They were then taken to the school, during the week, so that they could be available to those in need.

This, along with the ongoing “Soup to Go” mission and the Samaritan Ministry programme, is testament to the fact that, despite the hardships precipitated by the COVID-19 crisis, the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour still endeavours to do God’s work through community outreach.
