Community

Our Saviour's Eucharistic-centered community is an eclectic mix of original church founders, young families, and people representing many racial and cultural traditions around the world. Our unity in Christ is most visible at Sunday morning worship, but it is nourished and formed throughout the week in our parish programs and through our leadership. Day by day, God's action in this community inspires, nurtures, and equips us to reach out to the world in Christ's name.

Other Ministries

The Women of Our Saviour (WOS) is our congregation's chapter of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of the Diocese of Washington. It meets in two chapters – St. Ann's in the daytime and Friendship in the evening – to engage in programs of worship, service, and fellowship. WOS supports the national ECW's fundraising programs, such as the United Thank Offering and the Church Periodical Club. WOS also conducts periodic fund-raisers for its charitable outreach activities. Although WOS has carried on the tradition of ECW for a generation, we seek new ways to bring women of the various generations together.

For over forty years, the Fellowship of the Trees has sold trees and has raised funds for our operating budget and special projects. Despite stiff competition from bargain lots over the last few years, it remains a steady fund-raiser for the parish, one that encourages holiday fellowship among the parishioners and the surrounding community.

Governance: As required by the canons of the church, the Vestry --consisting of twelve members and two wardens—is the elected governing body of our congregation. Four members are elected each year for three-year terms. The Vestry has two standing committees, Finance and Buildings and Grounds.
